I was a bit bored and decided to kind of make a master list of town build ideas I've had. This list is so I can reference back to it when I want another thing to work on. Feel free to add to it!

Farm
Mob Farms
Mall
Library
Bee Farm
Zoo
Pvp Arena
Shooting Range
Restaurant (maybe with food shops inside)
Jail
Head Museum
Casino
Event Stadium (Your town could host events for giveaways like spawners, ce's, gear, etc.)
Town Garden
Furniture shop (where players can display furniture they have no need for anymore)
Chapel or church
Town mine entrance
Town nether entrance
Post office (players could leave mail for each other with writable books)
City hall
Art Museum
Hotel (New players can stay and see if they like it or other town members can if they'd want to switch)
Marketplace
Community Storage

Of course, some of these are actually useful and the others are just for fun/empty spaces

Have you tried setting the plots perms up so players can only "itemuse" - there are two commands to set this up, the first being /plot set perm off, This would make it so town members cannot do anything in the plot at all, including build/destroy. The second command you'd need to do is /plot set perm resident itemuse on, this would make it so players can open chests, enchantment tables, furnaces, and other 'items'. I find it quite essential to do in community chest areas, this is to help prevent players from griefing the plot or breaking the chests and letting the items despawn.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask, I'd also be willing to help with setting up perms correctly in towns, since it can help decrease theft/griefing.

Towny has a plot type that is Jail (/plot set jail). The point of a jail is if you have players that are outlawed in the town (meaning the mayor declared them as an outlaw). If they are killed in the town they are sent to the jail and have to pay a small fee to be released. However that portion of jails is disabled, but you can still set the plot type to a jail.

Best,
TeamJacob
