Can't start the survival tutorial

I'm trying to do the tutorial but it won't count me discovering spawn locations when I walk into them. The green text above my hotbar shows up but I dont get the pop up saying I discovered like on the main hub. Is there anything I can do because I'm trying to prestige but need vip?
