Gaia/tasks related question?

So, if I remember correctly when you reach Gaia the tasks change and become harder. What I want to know is do the tasks change when you do 12 rebirths and are able to go to Gaia, do they change when you do the maze the first time, or do they only change when you are in Gaia? Please tell me as I rely on tasks to get cubits.

I believe they change when you are able to go to Gaia after 12 rebirths. At least that's what I've observed!
