Around skyblock, you might have seen people talking about island level. Or, you might have seen the 100$ paypal reward for having the highest island level, which everyone wants! Either way, you might be a little bit confused about it. Here is a breakdown of it, and how you can get it higher than you thought possible!

First, you’ll want to check out the points that certain blocks give you, when placed on your island. You can check this by doing /is values. After doing this command, you should see something like this:
Here are the values of the different blocks, which can also be seen on the interface of /is values (along with the price in the shop)
Emerald blocks: 5 Island levels. 691,200$ per stack.
Diamond blocks: 3 island levels. 230,400$ per stack.
Gold blocks: 1.5 island levels. 57,600$ per stack.
Iron blocks: 0.25 island levels. 43,200$ per stack.
Spawners: 50 island levels. Prices change between spawner types.
Dragon eggs: 5000 island levels (Most island level) up to 250 mil per egg on Oasis, not sure about Aztec
Hoppers: 0.5 island levels

Here, you can see the different blocks that will boost your island level. The best is Dragon Eggs, but those sell for over 400 million dollars on Oasis. For large quantities, the best is Emerald. It is not cheap, but it will get your island level very large in no time. I am currently placing down these emeralds, which you can also see here:

Now, one other very important thing; you won't see your island level change at all, unless you do /is level. This will manually update your island level, and if you haven't done it in a while, sometimes you can see quite a large change. On the right hand side of your screen, you should see a tab that shows all of your stats; money, kills, hours spent, etc. On one of the lines, it says "Island: <number>". This is your island level. You can see I'm currently around 140k, but I plan to get past 1 million in the next few days.

If you are working on large grinders, or already have a good amount of Iron Golems, then your island level should be pretty high already.

Now, for one more tip. If you have 30 dollars laying around, and don't want to waste time laying down emeralds, I'd recommend buying World Edit from the store. With just a few commands, you are able to place down thousands, if not millions of blocks a day. I won't go into the details here, but if anyone wants a guide to world edit, just ask, and you shall receive!

If there are any points that I missed, that you think I should add in, you can reply to this post with them, and I'd be happy to add them in. I wish you the best of luck with your Skyblock adventures!

Wow thanks for this write up makes it far clearer!!! I might also add that this levelling is the same on Oasis/Aztec and Islands as well if I'm not mistaken!
I have one follow up question, I bought a dragon egg for 20million on Aztec and was wondering is all I have to do is place it to get my island level to increase ?

If you place the dragon on the ground it will give you 5000 island level
And to update you're island level you need to do this command /is level

I'd like to also say that you got that dragon egg for a steal! It might just be that the demand on oasis is higher, but people are buying them for 275mil+. A few of them won't hurt, but I'd recommend sticking to emeralds if you really want to get your level higher.

Hi @WingsOfFire17,
Thanks for making the guide. Some suggestions you could add how much each block add per island level. A list of these blocks is : Emerald blocks: 5 Island levels, Diamond blocks: 3 island levels, Gold blocks: 1.5 island levels (Most cost efficient per island level), Iron blocks: 0.25 island levels, Spawners: 50 island levels, Dragon eggs: 5000 island levels (Most island level) and hoppers: 0.5 island levels. Another suggestion is adding the costs in the /shop each block costs per block, or explain where you can get the blocks. Hope these suggestions help improve the guide.

Partly I think the economy is a bit more busted on Oasis also I bought it from someone who seemed newish themselves but assured me they thought a good price was that aha! I thought I was being ripped off but looks like I got it for a steal!!

When they said they would do something with island level, I was expecting something more along the lines of maybe, better ore generation as you level up (I've seen this on other servers (as you may know ;) )).

True! You can upgrade that as well though, with /is upgrades. If you'd like a guide on THAT, I'd be happy to make one as well ;).
