How do I use vault?

Every time I try to use /vault, it closes out with the message "you cannot vault this item". Why not, and what can I store?

Edit: so I learned that you have to use ./pv, but it still doesn't work saying "you do not have permission to do that". Why? and what do I have to to to get permission?

/vault is exclusively for items marked with "seasonal vault access" to bring over to next season. /pv is a storage vault you can use this season that only donators or people who have won the perk from the perk crate have access to.
