So uh, I recently found a youtube video made on a post from Mojang... and apparently they're gonna be implementing some kind of "global moderation?" I'm not sure if this will impact Java edition- or more specifically Manacube... I hope it doesn't, because looking at my past history I feel that perhaps it would warrant a ban from the platform entirely, which isn't really fair? One thing I would like to know is if previous actions on a server would count as criteria towards being banned from the platform, if that's what it really is... To be honest, I'm quite confused and intrigued, I feel that this is a good idea, but at the same time I'm not sure I like it... Let me know what your thoughts are!

As it says in the post they are planning to roll it out for all forms of minecraft.

However as it says later in the post this is for infractions on Minecraft featured servers and Realms. As far as I'm aware there are no Mojang/Microsoft endorsed servers on Java edition only on bedrock. If you are unsure about what kind of chat is allowed on Minecraft as a game / application you should reread the relevant sections of the TOS (Terms of Service) for Minecraft.

Also its a fantastic idea I think its time that some players are blacklisted entirely from an online game or service for chat that is blatant. Whilst you have a long mute and ban history on Manacube and other servers Stormy I don't believe you would be among those they are looking to ban from this change. By the looks of it this is more for Doxxers, Swatters, death threats, Language and content of an exceptionally inappropriate nature. However only time will tell with this sort've change but seems like a while off especially as Mojang leaves all moderation of servers up to the Owners of them on Java.

Well, I guess that's a relief... but I do know that some of the featured servers are cross-platform? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember one server I used to play on that was for PE and also compatible with PC was "official Minecraft partner" or something. I agree that some players should be banned from Minecraft entirely, however, what really bothers me is the lack of an appeal system... say a mod made a mistake (which can happen) a player could be banned forever, unless it was brought to the attention of the staff team and then discussed... but how would the staff team even know if a player doesn't appeal? Isn't that what appeals are for? If you get a false punishment ur supposed to appeal... I'm not sure if this is making any sense- I'm just saying that some kind of appeal system is better than none at all imo.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I am aware there will also be a temp ban system for lesser infractions.

I searched up the Minecraft TOS thingy/guidelines and this is what I found: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/community-standards
Most of this is just common sense, but I just want to say- bullying happens on Manacube. I understand that it can be reported to staff, but according to these "guidelines" Mojang has a zero tolerance policy towards the following:

"hatespeech..." hatespeech...
I'll just leave that for ya'll to interpret..

Things will be alright. Maybe they are just implementing this to prevent any new bad behavior.

I hope so, I don't wanna be caught in a frigging ban wave, and I'm sure you don't either. Guess this just means we have to be model citizens :D

I wonder if being annoying will get me banned
What if I'm being annoying but not trying to?

Mojang is not some sort of dictatorship - I'm sure they only release permanent bans for MAJOR violations - banning someone for being annoying on a game they spent money to purchase simply doesn't make sense from a company standpoint.

I'm sure you guys have nothing to worry about.

I'd expect permanent or lengthy Minecraft bans for the people Raptor mentioned above and not much else, i.e. doxxers, DDOS'ers, inappropriate harassment of minors, that kind of stuff especially as DDOS'ing and pedophilia are against the law.
