Personally I do love the trench enchantment. I do wish that because you are mining in a 3x3 that it would give you 9 blocks of xp instead of giving you 3. I think the mana is okay to be the 3 per 1 mined because if not that would be a lot of mana but the mining experience would just help out a lot in my opinion.

Trench is a really good enchantment if you're trying to get a high mining level as it triples the collection. It also triples the Mana which is really useful. The only problem that I have with it, is that sometimes my/server ping isn't great so I lag which makes the trench stop working for a couple seconds, then the blocks that were supposed to be trenched get mined. It doesn't sound bad, but when I'm constantly mining, it gets very annoying.
