Why are lanterns and other items in Creative Mode turning into stone blocks when added to inventory bar?

As the title says, I just got here and claimed my plot. I want to build on it but some of the items turn into stone blocks. Is it a client issue or?

Hello, @Laliat.

The reason for this, is that Creative is in 1.13, and the blocks you’re trying to use are in 1.14 - so while they show for you in the inventory menu, they technically don’t exist within the creative server yet.
