Why do you want to become staff?
I would like to become staff on Olympus because I really enjoy playing here and the community. I have always enjoyed helping people out, answering new players questions and being a friendly face to come online to. Another reason for this is because I want to contribute more to it than just playing as a normal user. I am passionate about making a positive gaming environment and ensuring that players have the best possible experience on Olympus. I believe that as a staff member, I can contribute to creating a welcoming community and addressing concerns promptly. I have only been a player for a short amount of time, but I have developed a deep understanding of its dynamics and player base. Becoming a staff member would allow me to give back to the community that I've come to love.

How long have you played on ManaCube?
About two months.

How many hours a week can you dedicate to Manacube? I am currently studying at University, but will be able to put in around 30-40 hours per week as an estimate. I am usually online more in the evenings if I have lectures that day.

What skills do you feel you have that will help the server?
I should be accepted over other applicants as I have the ability to adapt to multiple situations and hold my cool under-pressure and produce logical solutions. I am very good at communicating my opinion and ideas but then also listening and understanding to multiple sides to help create a resolution of the most tough scenarios.

I bring a unique combination of skills and qualities to the table that I believe will make a positive impact on the server. I have a background in conflict resolution and communication (in Criminology), which are crucial for handling player concerns and maintaining a civil community. I am quick to adapt, learn, and apply feedback. I am confident that my passion for the server's success sets me apart from other applicants. I am also pro-active in seeking guidance of clarification when encountering things I do not already know - I am a very fast learner.

What experiences have you had which could help you as staff? Over the years spent with me playing Minecraft, I have staffed on multiple servers.
DestructionCraft - This was a Towny, Factions, Skyblock and KitPvP server which has since shut down. I received Helper in 2015 and worked my way up to JrAdmin in the year I was there. This was before discord was widely used so TeamSpeak and Forums were used as a way for players to open tickets and express their concerns. During my time here I had to help players in chat, deal with any tickets created on forums, deal with staff applications and watch rule-breakers in game. I unfortunately had to leave this server due to the poor management system that was in place.

After this I took a little break from playing the game, but the next time I staffed was on a server called Chaotic Prisons. This was just a Prison server but during my time here I worked my way up from Helper to BanTeam. This server has again unfortunately since shut down due to breaking Mojang guidelines. As a BanTeam member my responsibility was to deal with any report tickets and keep an eye out for players who are potentially using a Hacked Client for their own advantage. Chaotic had both Discord and Forums as a way to create tickets.

AkumaMC - Piggybacking off my great experience in my prior staff adventures, I decided to take on the test of becoming staff on a much larger server. In April of 2023, I joined the AkumaMC staff team. During my almost 2 years here, I had worked my way up to Staff-Manager, I absolutely loved the responsibilities I had whilst here. When I first joined, the only gamemode we had at the time was Prisons, fast-forward a couple of months, I had to quickly adapt and learn to staff on two separate servers as Skyblock was released. Most servers have separate staff teams for each server - we did not. Having to quickly learn a gamemode that I was not really familiar with really encouraged me to work harder. This has helped me work on adapting to different environments. I was consistently aiding players with any small to major questions or conflicts. During my time here, I had dealt with over 10,000 tickets ranging from Bug Reports and then going on to fix their issue, Player Reports, General Questions, Ban / Mute Appeals, dealing with all Staff Applications and deciding whether the applicant should move onto the Second Stage interview. My role as Staff-Manager was to do everything a Manager done but with all Staff related stuff on top of this, including; running all staff meetings, going through staff applications regularly and declining / accepting players, running the staff interviews, mentoring the staff members onto the next stage, and in general just making sure the server and staff team was running smoothly. Unfortunately my time here was cut short due to a disagreement with the owner over him allowing certain words.

What three attributes distinguish yourself from other players that qualify you to be a helper?
I think I have mentioned a lot already in regards to a few questions above but I will list a few more here. Firstly, I am calm and cool-heading in situations where many will not be. I have had to deal with some very difficult situations in previous servers. I had once spent 4+ hours of straight going back and forth in a ticket about how our Robot system worked, and kept my cool during the whole situation. I am a fast learner and can catch onto new information very quickly. So anything that I may not know, I can very very quickly learn it. I am also hard-working, I had spent all of my free-time on my previous server and loved every second of it, any ticket that was opened, I was always the first to deal with it - I really love helping others.

Please explain what you believe the role of a staff member is.
I believe that a Staff Member is also there to not only assist players with any issues and quickly resolve any conflicts between players but to also be a friendly face for the community. As a Staff Member you are required to be a role-model for the community, to not break any rules and to follow by example. To get involved in conversations, be there for someone to have a laugh with. Help out with tickets, any questions and watch out for anyone that is potentially breaking the rules.

Are you able to use recording software? I am yes, I have both XBOX GameBar and Medal downloaded on my PC.

Anything else we should know?
Nothing, just one more thing to note - thank you for taking the time to read my application.

+1. I often see Lottie on and being rather helpful to players. She does give off the impression that she takes time studying the mechanics of the server and its minigames.

+.5 . I think you have some great experience and give off a good impression, but two months is not a very long time to be on this server- so it might be better to spend some more time playing and learning about Manacube/Olympus before you join staff. Great application though!
