I am Ben.
Today we are going to build a grinder.
First of all, we need to know how big a mob can be spawned from a spawner.
From the wiki, most of the mobs can spawn in a 9*9*4(height) area.
so we usually build a grinder like this:
Some people build it too small, so mobs will spawn outside the grinder.
If you have more spawners, you can build it bigger, some people will stick the spawners together but I usually build like this: 8 Spawners Example
We make an exit in the middle, let mobs fall down:
As we build the grinder square, we put water at 4 corners, we do not need to place a sign to block the water.
You can make the water higher to reach the middle point if your grinder is too big:
I think iron bar is the best to block the mobs:
