Difficulty: Easy
# of Jumps: 30-40
I, Rogue_Bee made the map with no helpers. I was inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender and the song "Leaves From The Vine" sang by Iroh's voice actor on the last episode his voice acting was used on. The concept and theme is definitely original (seriously).

I am willing to take feedback (not surprising)
Uh, you need feedback, pretty much, lol

The build is a bit ugly sorry to say and the jumps look pretty repetitive.

Good luck with your submission, but there's a slim chance of it getting accepted.

You do realize this doesn't help at all... I would prefer a more specific response. Maybe something I can add, fix, or overall to make it better. Your response doesn't seem to actually add anything. Also, I mostly worked on trying to get an original theme and a player who helped test my map said that the jumps are satisfying (RvPal).

I'm not exactly sure what the theme is to be honest. The map name is "Leaves from the vine" but what does it actually mean? How does the level exactly showcase it?

The Parkour is simply repetitive, with only regular blocks. It doesn't matter that the Parkour was fun in someone's opinion, because there is no variation in your map at all. You need to use different blocks, gameplay wise like flower pots, water, slabs, stairs etc! It will spice up your parkour and make it more fun to play!

You can take my word as a long time Mapper that I am willing to help you with map making if you need it! Just talk with me if I'm online whenever you feel like it :)

Thank you, I am currently modifying it!

Lol, you ask for feedback, and when I give you it, you disagree, dislike, and protest. Live with the reality bro. Also, I played the map, and I stick with all of the things I said before, and the lyrics randomly placed around don't help.

i do actually think that rogue has a point here, providing feedback to a submission is very useful but only if it is done in a respectful and meaningful way. this is done by providing negative feedback as you have clearly done but then providing possible solutions to the apparent problem. just telling them that it looks "ugly" will always generate a negative relationship between the creator and the reviewer and doesnt help anyone. this also discourages creators from submitting maps if they feel there is not a helpful and supportive environment for them to get feedback. i know that you do not mean anything untoward, this is just a tip towards your future reviews!
Also on the topic of providing specific feedback, it is also not very helpful to tell the creator to just put more blocks in to generate variation as we have seen that this is starting to generate maps from newer mappers that are just filled with random blocks for the sake of VaRiAtIoN. volunteer your time to help these players so that they have a better understanding of what the judges are looking for. this is the same for the build. it is sometimes hard to improve your own work so getting external opinions from reviewers such as yourself can really help when in game with SPECIFIC suggestions rather than generalised comments.
Anyways keep up the reviews, just be aware of what the creator thinks when they see reviews and how they will or will not act upon that advise.

This makes me feel sad. Anyways, I am going to further edit the map today maybe in 8 hours. Thanks for the feedback.

I may have given an impression that the builder needs to put random blocks just for the sake of variation, which was definitely not my intention. Thanks for bringing it up. What I meant was that the Parkour is only regular blocks, and should be something else that both fits aesthetically and is fun to play!

Sorry if I gave misleading information :)

Hey Rogue_Bee,

Unfortunately, I will be REJECTING this map submission.
  • Theme: Although we do have a map themed after a character from "Avatar: The Last Airbender", it doesn't theme around Uncle Iroh or his song. Hence why I believe this to be an originally themed map submission. Good job on picking out something new!
  • Build: Personally, I think the build could do a lot better. The first issue I encountered was how all over the place your build was. It's themed after the song but then you have all of these elements: the house, the forest/vines, and Uncle Iroh. They just don't work well together, creating a very messy feel. Not only that, but they were also pretty poorly executed. The house is very bland and generic and Uncle Iroh does not look like him at all. You need to work harder on theme portrayal and build execution.
  • Parkour: The parkour fit the easy difficulty in both length and ease, no problems there. But the parkour was very repetitive and linear. You had the player doing the same type of jump over and over again with little to not variation. It just wasn't fun to do because of this. I encourage you to expand your horizons and incorporate a wider array of jumps so that your parkour is fun to do.
I hope you take these criticisms into consideration when submitting maps in the future, good luck
