Why do you want to become staff?
The reason I want to become staff is because I simply love this server and the skyblock realm. The player base is fantastic and I know a lot about the realm itself. I've wanted to be apart of the team for a long time as I feel I would be a great attribute to the network. There currently are no helpers in skyblock, which I feel is needed. One thing I noticed when I first started playing skyblock is the lack of help and understanding the vast majority of tips and tricks for new players just getting started. I love answering questions and helping out players as I have a passion for making others feel included and feel like they're having fun. I believe I can increase the amount of long-term/donating players by showing the true value of the network/realm of skyblock to new and engaging players. Something that developed my motivation to apply is the fact that I am online very frequently, and believe an active helper with a personable first impression to new and current players can contribute to the rising of the total player base moral of the skyblock realm.
How long have you played on ManaCube?
I have played on ManaCube for around 2 years, but on different accounts. Due to the Mojang accounts transferring to Microsoft, I have lost access to my previous alts.
How many hours a week can you dedicate to Manacube? I can dedicate a total of 25-30 hours a week on the server.
What skills do you feel you have that will help the server?
I currently hold the role of a Replenishment Coach (assistant store manager) for Walmart INC. I Have been working there for close to 5 years. Started as a regular associate, then promoted to Team Leader after 6 months from hire. 2 years went by then was finally promoted to a salaried management role, RPA Coach.
I have many skills that can help Manacube that I have developed over the years.
1 Sales - I have a very large knowledgebase of sales, local and global demographics, as it is my duty to maintain the retail establishments financials, daily sales, cost of onboarding employment, and customer CFX (Satisfaction Rate) and FOP (Flow Of Product). This includes providing the customer with not only options, but add-ons. Example: We want our customers to buy This, This and that. Not just this and that. We can do that by putting dog food next to dog bowls and splash trays. Not putting dog food next to cat collars, or dog beds. This is basically giving the customer a line of product, and not just one choice. It seems simple, but it makes the money. This is crucial in maintaining frequent buyers and regulars by keeping a good relationship with the customers and their needs. My skills alone has helped my establishment reach 100 Million + dollars in sales annually, maintaining a 5% increase each quarter.
2 People Management - One thing that I've learned as a sales manager is managing the people. In this case, the player base. By taking information given by higher ups, breaking down said information and passing it down to peers, getting the job done (following the rules). As most people know, being Walmart is the top retailer in the world, there are hundreds of thousands of policies in place, Respecting and protecting the people. A lot of these policies are similar to ManaCube policies. Including policies that deflect and defend against sexual harassment, public allegations, hate speech, disrespect, inappropriate/malicious behavior and activities, social media conflict in regards to company/network affairs, and staff interference. As ManaCube is a publicly available network, all these things are possible, and should be taken seriously. I have years of experience enforcing/maintaining these policies IRL/online.
3 Dedication - Something my peers always say about me is my strong dedication to just about anything. I take things seriously and intimately. People IRL or Online are creatures of feeling, expression and emotion; everyone has these qualities. I am the type of person who is strongly dedicated to being as helpful, understanding and available as possible, making me a great addition to the world of ManaCube.
What experiences have you had which could help you as staff? Some of the relevant experiences I have include
1 Former Moderator for a roleplay server that is no longer with us, RCG. Realistic Combat Gaming. I was staff for that server for around 5 months, before the network went bankrupt and lost the player base. I have had lots of experience managing chat logs, enforcing reasonable punishment when needed, but also fulfilling the duty as a moderator by truly engaging with players, as well as providing value to other players as a resource for help, bullying or trolling.
2 Ran my own server for a bit - Unfortunately my efforts were unsuccessful a long time ago. But I've had experience in the early stages of development for a server, and have ran through many hosting companies.
What three attributes distinguish yourself from other players that qualify you to be a helper?
These are my attributes that make me different from other players
1 Anxious to help - One thing I never see often is other players immediately engaging with new players and fairly new players. As a fellow ManaCuber, I always help new folk and make them feel like ManaCube is a server worth playing. I am always greeting players, asking how they're doing, if they're doing tasks, if they have any questions, or if they need help understanding the game and how it works, I am always there as a resource for players to truly enjoy ManaCube to its fullest extent
2 Very strong grindset (grinding mindset) - rather it's constructing a huge building, working on moral, getting to the bottom of problems, testing new software/updates or absolutely trying to break the system to prove it is unbreakable, I am all for it and do not and will never leave a job unfinished, or say something I cannot fulfill
3 Fast and detailed learner - The way I learn things is by understanding every last detail of everything until nobody can tell me I don't know it. I will learn ropes inside out. I have strong intentions of moving up in the network as I am here for the long run, and will contribute valuable skills/knowledge to the ManaCube community. Give me a path, and I will follow it 10000 times over.
Please explain what you believe the role of a staff member is.
The role of a staff member is not only enforcing rules, managing chat, and other discrepancies in the online experience, but to be a leader and truly understand the players and their needs, the ins and outs of the game, and the best possible move going forward. I like to think of life like chess (you might have heard this before) but I always make the next best possible move. Be an example to others and increase moral, increase long-term player base, and making the experience as friendly and enjoyable (and as available to all types of players as well) as possible.
Are you able to use recording software? Yes
Anything else we should know?
I am very dedicated to this network and will do whatever it takes to help improve this experience and become a well known contributor to the community. I am very calm in stressful situations, and always result to respect. I am also a skilled builder and can help out with future projects if need be.
