What is the main realm you play on
Parkour
When did you start playing on ManaCube and what does your activity look like?
I joined Parkour in August of 2020 and have consistently played since then with currently almost 2000 hours. Every once and a while I’ve taken breaks, however, within the past year I’ve played continuously and have been actively involved with the realm.
Why do you want to join the QA team?
With Parkour approaching migration to version 1.20, I would like to take part in this big change. Having contributed to Parkour through making maps, I would love to be able to do more to help out and ensure Parkour succeeds in 1.20. Becoming a part of the QA team is a great opportunity to start for me. Even without 1.20, testing and reporting issues is something I would want to do, anything that betters the server. I’ve been associated with Parkour long enough that I care about its performance and want to make sure it stays successful.
Do you have any experience with game testing/quality assurance?
I do have some experience with quality assurance in the form of testing maps before they've been released, but nothing professional or official. Even though my map testing experience isn’t formal, this doesn’t mean my criticism isn’t worthy. I have the ability to recognize when a map’s parkour needs improvement and bring in others who are more knowledgeable. The main way I give quality assurance is through helping anyone with making a map, primarily the building aspect. I’m always up to give critiques on builds – anything to make them better! I help out on developing maps quite frequently, plus building my own maps. Although my game testing isn’t as seasoned, I would like to learn more on testing game mechanics and being more involved.
What qualities or skills do you have that would contribute positively to the QA team?
I would say I have more knowledge about the parkour realm than the average player. With this, I believe my constructive feedback would be more helpful in improving the parkour realm while being a part of the QA team. Making decisions for Parkour and its future is significant and being a part of those changes is important to me. I’ve been on parkour long enough that I know what I want to be changed and, in my opinion, would thoroughly better the parkour experience. I already have several ideas I’d like to share and hopefully get across and implemented. Through my building career, I have a lot of knowledge regarding world edit, which I have suggestions for, and building advice. If anything, I would love to teach others to build through posts or other methods, improving the parkour realm by adding more builders for maps. My availability is also a plus. Most of the time I am available for meetings, testing, feedback, etc. Even when I’m not open, I will make the time for requests and I’m rather quick to respond.
