When playing parkour, a question that always comes to me is "ah if I could only set a checkpoint here and not have to do that part". So, I suggest a portable checkpoint! The checkpoint could have a limit of 2 uses within 24h or something similar.

A suggestion I might add is to simply update the server to the latest version so we could at least craft up to date items and tools. What could also be done is unloaded chunks, or chunks that have been loaded a while ago, to get reset with the latest version so more content is available.
