70% = 58%?? (Regarding Ranks and Such)

I don't believe that this was intentional, but the 70% off everything in the shops ends up only being 58% off.
Let me explain.
So currently, everyone has the 40% off everything (St. Patrick's Sale)
A few people (or everyone, I have no idea) received a 30% extra off including the original 40% off.
This would =70% off total, or would it...
Let's use an example, A rank upgrade from Legend to Vast
The original 40% off of the current price, 40$, would lower the price to a cool $24.
And This 70% off promised by who ever put the advert on the tab button should lower the price to about $12.
However, the coupon takes 30% off the total bill... after the original 40%.
This makes the price now $16.80, a total of $4.80 difference.
And after doing the math, the total sale price is 58% off.
Was this over looked? Who knows.

Yea i used it to get vast. So what it does, it basically doesn't give u 70% off since there was already 40% off it gives u 30% off to equal 70%. It wouldn't make sense to add the already given 40% off and the awarded 70% because that would end up giving u 110% which makes no sense because everything would end up being free. Lol this was a fun conversation :)

The reported 70% only taxes 58% off, since you get 30%off of 40%. Not the actual 70%

I upgraded from vip to vast with this discount. It really doesn't make a difference I saved about 35 dollars so I'm happy i got it on sale. 4.80 doesn't really make a difference.

You are right, It does only give you 58% off and not a total 70% I did the math on google and I get the same results its not that big of a difference but I mean you could buy like a 10 piece and a medium drink with an extra 4.80$
