I just started and I'm completing the Beginner Quests. There's a quest to mine 300 cobblestone. I've mined about a billion regular stone to get cobblestone and that didn't contribute toward the quest. So I laid down a bunch of cobblestone and mined that, which didn't do anything either. (Literally Progress: 0%.) So I'm asking like the dumbest Minecraft question ever... How do I mine cobblestone???

Placed cobblestone does not count towards the quests, as that could be easily exploited!
I would recommend you create a cobblestone generator to grind through the beginner quest for cobblestone mining!
If you need any help with creating one, I would advise you to search up on Youtube how to build one as there are a ton of designs, each with its own unique pros and cons.
