Hi Bloobsi,
Technically the only legitimate way the ghast quest is complete is if someone has gotten a ghast spawner from the mystery chest. That is basically the only way legitimate the quest can be completed.

Hey Bloobsi, there are ways to complete the ghast quest any time you see one. My suggestion is try going to /warp kill and find the ghast spawner there that you can use for free and is open to the public.
