How do you properly count jumps on a parkour?

I never get the same jump count as maps say they have.

Having an exact jump count isn't really that necessary when it comes to submitting your map as long as it is in the recommended map length ranges (20-40 for easy, 40-60 for medium, 60-80 for hard, 80-100 for expert, 100+ for insane). The jump count really depends on the person submitting the map because some people count bouncing off a slime and landing as two jumps while others count it as one, some people count "filler jumps" as jumps while others do not, etc.
