Some general things I think you should follow are
1. Don't trap players with in-town claims (This includes an arena. Give people a warning if they can't make it out.)
2. Don't go in and out of town claims during PVP to stay safe while doing damage; choose one.
3. Don't be a jerk in chat and start chewing people up with your words.
4. Don't mine near a siege beacon
5. Don't try to chat evade this can lead to a permanent ban
6, Don't toggle town PVP on people. If you are going to you, have to give a count down so people inside can safely get out, and this isn't a 5 seconds countdown. It's about 1 minute.
7. Don't build inappropriate buildings
8. Don't grief people's stuff when it's near town claims. A safe distance would be about four chunks away.
