This season we’ve done major updates to player arenas, duels, events & more! We are also doing our first unban-all (see below for what ban types are included)
Player Arenas Update
Arenas introduced in season 11 were unnecessarily complicated and lacking.
We've simplified it by reducing the amount of menus and commands, removing materials (arena members can now just use creative mode), improving the arena browser, and setting respawn locations to be the arena spawn
Players can now also earn money and XP in arenas, however KDR/stats will not be affected.
Anti-boosting is also still blocked. (killing the same person(s) over and over)
By default, arenas will use a cloned version of your main inventory with keep inventory on.
This means you can bring anything you want to arenas, and even if you use/lose the items, you will get them back when you return to the main world
If an arena chooses to use custom kits, players in the arena will spawn with these kits instead of a copy of their own inventory.
Arenas can create up to 7 kits to use. Creating a kit is done through creative mode, and you can enchant items simply by dragging an enchantment book onto an item.
Build Mode & Materials have been scrapped. Arena team members can enter creative mode to build their arena and customize the kits at no cost or limits.
You can now own or be a part of multiple arenas (up to 5)
Safezone areas have also been simplified. Anywhere lime wool or lime carpets is placed is a safezone.
There is also an action bar message indicating if you are in a safezone
The arena browser has been improved. Active arenas (with players) will be separated at the top, and inactive arenas with no players will be separated at bottom. Arenas can set up to 3 tags to describe their arena, as well as setting a custom icon and name.
The world changing screen has also been removed, so teleporting to arenas is seamless/instant

Slime World Format
Our core plugin now uses the slime region format (a world format developed by hypickle) to save arena worlds, something we've been wanting to do since Skyblock season 10. This is a highly efficient way of saving/loading worlds and uses over 80x less disk space! This also means every arena is it's own private world, allowing us to do a lot more things like dimensions & world settings, world specific limiting instead of global limiting etc.
We will be using this tech on skyblock/olympus/islands/parkour/creative. Polishing it first on KitPvP is perfect since we don't have to deal with things like minions, furniture, teleport pads etc, and there is not much risk involved since inventories are separate + constant backups.
We would also like to keep arena builds across season resets going forward.
You can now queue into any type of duel and will be automatically teleported when matched up. Entering a combat area will remove you from queue. You can set your queue mode to single or automatic. Single means you will only queue for 1 duel, automatic means you will continuously queue after each duel ends.
The queue system tries to match you with someone close in rating.
Ratings is now a hidden stat used for queueing. We will likely be adding ranked duels and a public ranked elo rating later on
4 new duel arenas and 9 new sumo arenas have been added.
The classic arenas haven't been removed and are still available
New Duel Kits
4 new kits have been added to duels:
Freedom - Uses a copy of your current inventory
Barebones - Iron Armor, Stone Sword (Unbreak 3), Bow, Fishing Rod, 6 golden apples, 25 arrows, 32 steak
Soup - Diamond Armor (P2, Unbreak 3), Diamond Sword (Sharp 3, Unbreak 3), 16 Ender Pearls, 4 Speed II potions, 29 Soups, 64 Chicken
Spleef - Golden Shovel (Unbreak 10) [You can destroy snow blocks in this duel mode]

New LPS Map + Auto Spectating
The new LPS map is a big upgrade from the previous one, adding a lot of places to run and hide, while still keeping it small. The border will eventually shrink to the center piece
Spectating is now also automatic after dying
This is a brand new event similar to LPS. It takes place in an abandoned town with 1-3 infected players and 10-30 survivors.
The infected player starts with overpowered items and speed, and survivors start with basic supplies.
- If a survivor dies to an infected, they join the infected team.
- Each time a survivor becomes infected, all infected players gear gets downgraded, and survivors gear gets upgraded.
- Eventually there will be 1 survivor left, with overpowered gear, and all the infected will only have basic gear.
If the remaining survivors can outlast the timer they will share a cash prize!
Old head leaderboards have been removed, replaced by interactive hologram leaderboard, as well as a GUI that shows a lot more info.
Having a lot of player heads on the server isn't great. Some people can get lag spikes from it.
The hologram leaderboards only show kills, money and squad kills (and can be clicked to show monthly instead)
The /leaderboard GUI shows all of these + Duel Wins, Event Wins, Fairy Claims & playtime.
Unban All (Hacking/Teaming)
On the release of Season 12, we've decided to unban everyone that is banned for either hacking or teaming in LPS.
There is over 73,000 players currently banned for these 2 offense types. We would like to give everyone on this list another chance to return to ManaCube, and we are confident in our anti cheat to ban 99% of hackers.
- Lots of Manaray anticheat improvements and new detection (already live)
- Tweaks to knockback, can also be adjusted live during beta without rebooting
- Improved bow boosting, will now always send you in the direction you're facing
- Upgraded server hardware. Better network + 2x faster CPU. EU players can use the IP eu.manacube.com for more stable ping (This is only a proxy, not a separate server)
- Bug fixes & lag spike fixes
- Spawn build updated
