Leather or Netherite?

Now the question to be sure,
Is leather sva even protective and strong as a netherite one?
i thought i heard something back then but now im not sure,
For example:
(netherite) Patrick Shorts protection VII
Vs Hulk Bottoms protection VIII (leather)
which one is stronger or even strong??

Yeah idk but i think that it doesent matter what they are meant to work as if they are netherite I’m not 100% certain but I think so
