My crafting table wont accept any combination of 4 stacks of dust to make a magic star. What am I missing please?

What's a magic star? If u mean a nether star then u have to kill a wither as you can't craft it

It is a skyblock item, hence asking in skyblock. You can purchase special items with the stars made out of the dust, however I cant get the recipe to make the stars work according to the info I found on Google or told by other players in chat.
