Would you like to submit a map for our Parkour Server? Find out how below:

DISCLAIMER : This thread is not a tutorial, if you need help making a map, ask people to test your map, use the recent accepted maps on the "Accepted maps" section as a guide, or check this part of the wiki https://manacube.wiki/parkour/making-maps/parkour-maps.

New: Now accepting dropper maps. Use current (community) dropper maps as a guide (Like normal maps).

Requirements:
  • Put checkpoints on the map with signs (You can create a checkpoint by placing "checkpoint" on the second line of a sign)
  • Must be completable on latest Minecraft version.
  • Preferably an original themed parkour (Not just random blocks)
  • You can have (3D) pixel art as long as it's not the majority of the map
  • Have the name of your map on a sign at the beginning
  • No shortcuts that shorten the length of the map by a lot
  • Do not build a part of your parkour 35 blocks under the start of your map, the parkour could mess up with the tp blocks in normal mode
  • Do not build a part of your build 71 blocks under the start of your map, the parkour road is (generally) at Y : 71 so anything under 72 blocks or more will just be cut off
  • Redstone is allowed, but should not be overused (the limit is up to staff discretion, use recent maps with redstone as an example of how much redstone you can use)
  • Adding multiple endings to a map is allowed, as long all endings have the same difficulty plate (any ending under the difficulty of the map will be a landmine, and anything above is just not allowed). The amount of endings on a map is limited to 3 plates.
  • What you must state in your submission:
    - Post nice screenshots of the map (if possible)
    - Tell us what difficulty you think the course is, (we will test it to double check)
    - Information about who built the course.
    - The username of the plot it was built on.

Banned Blocks
  • Single iron fences
  • Single glass panes
(These blocks can be used, but they cannot be single because they will not work properly on 1.12)
  • Sliced cakes (These blocks can't be rotated, and every maps have a different facing)
  • X facing piston heads (Piston heads facing west are bugged in 1.8)
  • Piston heads facing down (Too many reports of people lagging on them)
For more information about the facing, please check this part of the wiki : http://www.manacube.wiki/parkour/tips-and-tricks

Those banned blocks can still be used for decorative purpose.

How to Submit?

You can build the map on our Map Maker World. Get there through the play menu or by typing /warp maps
When your build is fully done, please submit your map in the "Map Submissions" section of the forum

Submission Format:
  • Username(s)
  • Map name
  • Photos of your Parkour (Optional)
  • The # of your Plot / or warp name to it
  • Difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, Insane, Dropper) (You are also free making Donator maps)
  • Number of jumps (Optional)

What happens next?

We will then look over the course and see if it meets our standards. If the course is well-done we will add it to Parkourse in the proper category and give you credits.
When your map is accepted, they are added in the beta area (use /warp beta) before being added.
If you successfully get 3 accepted courses you will receive the [Mapper] Rank.

The Mapper rank inherits all of VIP Perks, get 25 plots on Map Maker World and gets access to Donator Courses. You also get a cool prefix!

Building Tips

If you're aiming for a specific difficulty, try to make this many jumps, those amounts are only recommended:

Easy: 20-40 jumps (avoid difficult jumps either, like neos)
Medium: 40-60 jumps
Hard: 60-80 jumps
Expert: 80-100 jumps
Insane: 100+ jumps (avoid above 200 jumps)

Barriers (do /barrier to get one) :
Please avoid annoying barrier block placement, and try to use a replacement block instead whenever possible.
The reason being is Parkour is in adventure mode, meaning you cannot see the outline of barriers, making some courses extremely annoying to play on. Thanks!
You can still use barriers to block off skipping parts of the maps, but try to make them not interfere with someones legitimate jump, or have them right next to the player unless there is a sign stating there's barrier blocks.

TP blocks / Jump pads (Triggers):
For tp blocks in your map, add coords at the start of the tp block to indicate where is the end of the teleportation when your map will be added as a Parkour course (If it's accepted).
Here is a list of possible triggers in your maps :
  • Tp blocks (Teleport a player from a point A to B) (You can create tp blocks using coords or depending of your position)
  • Jump pads (Launch the players to a set direction)
  • Message triggers (Send a message in chat to the player)
You can ask for triggers you can click on, or walk on.

Rule about stolen builds from internet :
Copied builds from Internet (Google, Youtube, whatever you want) will follow the same rule as Pixel arts : You can use a copied build from internet as long it is not the majority of the map.
Which mean : Maps with only copied builds are not allowed anymore and will get an instant reject if we manage to found it.

You are allowed to use someone else build if the original builder allow you to use it (Please add some evidences about it) (The original builder will still get some credits)

If you manage to get an accepted map from a copied build, the map will not be rejected/removed, but your credits will be removed (Even if you made the parkour, you need those credits to have the Mapper rank) and only the original builder will have credit (Even if this player do not play on the server). Current added but stolen parkour maps will also be affected.

If you have mapper rank but don't have 3 non-stolen maps after this rule applies, you will lose your Mapper rank.

Rule about multiple submissions at once :
This rule is here to avoid people submitting too many maps in a single day and causing more stress towards map judge.
You are not allowed to submit more than 5 maps per week, and 2 per day.
For example, you submit 2 maps a Tuesday, 2 a Thursday and 1 a Friday, you will have to wait the next Tuesday to submit more maps. If you manage to submit 2 more maps the next Tuesday, you will have to wait the next Thursday to submit more maps etc...
This rule will stay light, and is mostly here to avoid people submitting packs of maps everytime they submit or people filling a whole page of submissions in one day cough.

This doesn't mean punishment will not be applied if abused, and can result in a temporary ban from map submissions.

This rule as been made to keep a good image of the server, and force players to create their own maps and prove they really deserve the Mapper rank if they ever get it. You are free to report someone's map with proofs of the build being stolen to a Map Judge.

EDIT : To avoid a drop of Mappers, this rule will not apply to stolen Pixel arts, since they are just not allowed alone for a moment now, and because it's quite impossible to know the original creator.

Update :

-Changed max width of a map (from 120 to 137, so it fit the size of a map maker world plot, no limits for lengh)
-Do not build a part of your build 71 blocks under the start of your map, the parkour road is (generally) at Y : 71 so anything under 72 blocks or more will just be cut off
-Redstone is allowed, but should not be overused (the limit is up to staff discretion, use recent maps with redstone as an exemple of how much redstone you can use)
