Muted for saying 'homophobic' slurs?

Okay, so I was on KitPvP and this dude named Double_Negatives said this:
'§a[VIP]§a Double_Negatives§8: fgtt, dont be a fgtt'. Now, I don't understand how he is saying my name when he is directly calling me a fgtt. I'm not a fgtt, I'm fgtt, so why was I muted for calling him a fgtt when he called me one? I believe this is taking advantage over new players and the reason Double_Negatives wasn't muted was because he is VIP. After confronting @Androob about this, he claims he never saw Double_Negatives say anything in chat, only what I saw. I don't have a picture of the actual chat In-Game because the chat went away, but I do have proof in my game output logs.

Towards the bottom, you can see Double_Negatives calling me a fgtt. I demand justice!

We no longer mute players for the short form "fgt" or in your case "fgtt"

You on the other hand used the entire term which leads to a mute. Simple as that.

I don't even see homophic slurs in the rules on kitpvp. When I do /rules, it says respect everyone, but it doesn't say anything against homophobic rules. Or is this a rule everyone is supposed to just know?
