Server-side Chunk Render Distance

Hi, I know I can edit my viewing distance, but I'm wondering what is Survival's chuck loading distance?
I think I heard it's 3 chunks, would that mean 3 chunks in all directions for a total of 7x7 around my character? Thanks.

Hi l3lackitty,
I am not familiar with the survival chunk loading distance but I can try to help. If the chunk loading distance is 3 chunks that means it will load the 3x3 chunks around you if you are in the middle chunk. So a total of 9 chunks loaded. At least that's how I would put it and how I've seen other people put it. I can't say for sure whoever told you meant it the same way.
