Why do you want to become staff?
Manacube has provided a community where I feel safe, and I want to contribute to making sure any new player feels this way as well. Plus, most of the time I'm on, there aren't very many staff on parkour sadly, and I want to help in fixing that. From my understanding, a lot of parkour staff members are very busy with life, and I would like to be able to help in keeping Parkour well-staffed and well-run.
How long have you played on ManaCube?
1000+ hours
How many hours a week can you dedicate to Manacube? 20-30
What skills do you feel you have that will help the server?
I am very good with my time management, seeing as how I'm a full time grad student working three part time jobs and I am still able to find time to come on Mana. I am very committed to this server and trying my best to uphold the rules in whatever way I can. On top of that, I try my best to be nice to everyone I interact with and I try to help anyone that needs it, doing what I can to uphold the community that hooked me into the server to begin with. That said, I am not afraid to become assertive when necessary, and if people are repeatedly breaking any rules, then I will act accordingly, but not overtly aggressively. Plus, I am also chronically on Manacube so if something is going on that needs a staff's attention, then chances are I will be there to do something about it.
What experiences have you had which could help you as staff? I have worked a lot of jobs, most in which rely on customer service, event planning, and building operations (basically, I did what was asked of me). I also help organize official Rubik's Cube competitions in the north Nevada area, and have staffed several more competitions in the West Coast Cubing region. I have experience in playing in many ensembles, where I took over the role of leader for my section. Plus.... yeah, I do mod a couple discord servers. (pause for laughter)
What three attributes distinguish yourself from other players that qualify you to be a helper?
One of my jobs is as an event coordinator, meaning I can work really well with a group of people in order to get something done. The second attribute I want to highlight is my ability to listen attentively and learn quickly, meaning that a lot of my training will soak in very quickly and as such, I will be able to retain information better. Finally, slight flex, but since I have champion rank, I don't have to worry about parkouring as much, so I can dedicate much more time to helping the server.
Please explain what you believe the role of a staff member is.
The role of a staff member is to know the rules and make sure that players are also aware of the rules, as well as mediate any conversation or activity that might go against those rules, without using excessive force or aggression. Staff members must be level-headed when approaching a situation where they may be needed. They must also help any player that is struggling with anything regarding the server (i.e. in the case of Parkour, any difficult jumps, any functionality issues with maps, etc etc.)
Are you able to use recording software? Yes, OBS
Anything else we should know?
i like skewb :)
