The Lag is Unreal

When I joined the Creative server today, I noticed in the chat that everyone was complaining about the lag. I used to think that it was just that individual's computer, not the server, but this turned out to be false. The server lagis immensely, sometimes even timing out people. Block lag, chat lag, the whole package. I cannot move 5 blocks without me lagging back to the 3rd block I moved on. Sometimes the lag is not as severe. I do not know if someone is deliberately causing the lag, or if it is internal. Whatever it is, I hope it can be fixed.
