Hello everyone, Tenshi here with a new parkour map series. This series is called "Clocktower" and includes 3 parkour maps. This one, Is an hourglass. The parkour would be of Hard/Medium class. ( Created by @Pud96, @Fooshmoosh112 and myself ) It uses barrier blocks and sand to create the effect of falling sand. Please use /warp HourglassPK and give it a try!

Heyp Tenshi, it's my time to give some tips for you! :p

1. You can make the "falling effect" what you call it without barriers, just do //set air for every single barrier and the sand doesn't fall! In this map there is many places where the barrier makes one jump a head hitter, but the player cannot know that! (if that's not supposed to be the case)
2. I don't quite understand, what the name "Time is slowing parkour" means, for me when I started checking this map I thought that the map starts easy and it gets harder along the way because when the jumps are harder and you have to slow down... I would recommend changing the name to like "Hourglass Parkour" or something.
3. When you go inside of the hourglass it gets very tricky because there is just so many barriers!
4. The map has around 55 jumps, but there is no checkpoints? Did you forget those? o_O
5. I don't understand the water at the starting place, but that's not really a problem! :D

Keep making maps and good luck with your other maps from this series!

The water was just for decor at the start. The checkpoints will need to be added, Ill add those. There are alot of barriers, Which is why it would be deemed hard/medium. The sand is on barriers, So the player can see them better and act as the sand is "falling". The name "Time Is Slowing Down" is one of the parkour maps in my series. In an hourglass, It starts fast but goes slow as it reaches the end.

I'm sorry but the invisible blocks (like other maps) make the whole map just annoying even if the build is good. Maybe remove them if you can and do the air command like Nixi said.

I might. The map is not supposed to be an easy map though.

Hey Tenshi, when I was in your hourglass at the last part, the barriers blocking the way from jumping straight down do nothing. I simply found a way to skip that part from the top block. (I went around the barrier). This might be something you wanna fix :P

Hey Tenshi. I cant get to the end so thats fixed, well directly. I can skip to the block just before that. Though this may be impossible to fix, I will show you anyway. I went here (Pic 1) to here (Pic 2) by moving sideways.

Note: I mainly give negative feedback. Don't feel discouraged from making maps after reading my feedback.

The first and biggest issue is that this map would serve as a perfect medium map if it were not for the roofed jumps in the middle. There are two main problems with this. One, it is slightly unfair for people first playing the map that there are invisible blocks that serve as the roofs. It can be quite confusing and might take people some time to figure it out. (Especially to people who don't know about barriers blocks, but these people aren't very common) Two, it doesn't make for a very balanced map if there is one primary source of difficulty that stretches a map to a higher difficulty. Most of the other jumps are medium difficulty, but the roofed section stretches the map's difficulty so much it breaks the threshold for medium and flows into hard. This is why it's unbalanced; The rest of the map is simple while the roofed section is the only problem.

Another problem is that the only jumps in this map are block jumps. (Save for the roofed jumps, which are just a type of block jump) It makes a map kind of stale and boring to play. I would recommend making some of the block jumps block/ladder jumps, where you jump to a ladder on the side of a block.

The end section of the map is ever so slightly confusing in which you have to go down with the barriers in the way. I would recommend making it so that you fall straight down, and the end of the map is at the side of the hourglass so there's no cheating allowed. Then, there's parkour around the hourglass to reach the finish. However, the design of the hourglass doesn't allow much for that kind of thing, and people might be able to cheat still.

The hourglass base is not a perfect circle. I use this circle chart when making circles. The number under each circle is the diameter.

This hourglass has a diameter of 23, so you build the circle that's labelled 23. However, this would require a full re-designing of the hourglass.

Around the hourglass, the jumps are in straight lines, forming a kind of square. It looks kind of out of place and choppy. It would be nice if the jumps were in some sort of curve around the hourglass for some conformity and flow.

The sand at the bottom of the hourglass is unrealistic. Sand falls to the center and creates a mound in real life, but the formation of sand in the bottom of your hourglass has little mounds all around the edge. I can't imagine a scenario in which you can cause sand in an hourglass to make that formation.

It peeves me a little that the map name is "Time is slowing down" when there is nothing to suggest that time is slowing down. There is only an hourglass to suggest that the map is time-related, but even then, time alone is time and does not relate to the slowing of itself. I suggest just changing the name of the map to "Hourglass PK."

I have judged this map and have decided on a few things; read below.

Firstly, I changed the difficulty of the map to Medium, and removed the few barrier block jumps half way through the map. This is because the map wasn't hard enough to be ranked a Hard map, but because of those jumps it was just a bit too hard to be Medium, so I went half way and removed the jumps and moved the difficulty to Medium.

The theme of the map is alright, its simple and easy to understand, knowing you there's probably backstory behind it but whatever. Its a simple map, quite plain and quick to do.

The map has been accepted and will be implemented to Parkour upon the next batch of map uploads.
Congratulations.
