If it's about school, my motivation right now is getting 1st place from my class.
If it's about money, think that your time so valuable, so many internet money schemes exist.
If it's about depression:

For me, it depends on what I'm working on. If it's a long time goal, I set up smaller milestones on my way to my goal, so I always have little feeling of success when I achieve one of those milestones, which keeps me motivated to work hard. If it's something that can be achieved in a shorter period I just sit down and try to work it off as soon as possible. When I do that, I don't keep thinking about having to do this work later on and I can be more relaxed while doing things I like more.
To sum it up, what motivates me is having the task done and the rewarding feeling when I have achieved something good ^-^

Depends. My shallow motivations are for money, because “money makes the world go around” and it makes my life easier to have money!
My deeper motivations to work hard are rooted in my pursuit of knowledge and exploration. My goal in life is to learn something new every day, no matter how big or small. This is what I have oriented my future career around (I want to be a professor) so I can use what I am passionate about to work hard and make a living doing something I fundamentally enjoy.
