Why are expert locked?

You need to have the "Skilled" rank for Experts (and Insanes).
Just do /rankup and you will see how many the rank cost.

For any more confusion if anyone sees this thread and thinks you have to donate to get the skilled rank, You do not. Just beat maps and you get mana.

Because you have to be [Skilled] Rank or higher to get acces to Expert and Insane difficulty

You just need skilled rank. Complete some maps so you can get mana and rankup. The reason they have those maps blocked for lower ranks is because you can get a lot of mana and score from them, and most noobs aren't good enough yet to complete those maps.
