Mana is a secondary currency throughout the many servers on ManaCube. It depends on the server you play on what you can do with mana. For example, Creative allows you to purchase perks like world edit with mana, on Olympus mana is the main trading currency and is used for pickaxe upgrades/enchantments, on Parkour you use mana to upgrade your ranking - It all depends on the server you play on!
For Skyblock, mana is used in the /mana shop where you can purchase in-game items to help you throughout your time on Skyblock, and also island upgrades! I’ll attach a screenshot below of the menu showcasing the items you can purchase with mana, to get to it, just do /mana shop in-game. You can also get help by using the wiki in-game by doing /help and selecting one of the subjects you want to learn more about, or you can ask a member of staff or a player within the community. :)

First of all, let’s talk about ‘What is mana?’, mana is a type of balance that is oftenly used to do things like buying items from the /mana shop, spending it for a /rankup or even /trade with members in-game.
Secondly, ‘How do you get mana?’, very often people think that mana is super hard to get, but that has been proven wrong a couple times...
You can gain mana by doing things such as;
- Getting a job and leveling up, this will make you get mana.
- Spending time on the game, every 5 minutes (If I’m not wrong) you get 5 mana.
- Trading it with players
About what Hallow said, I wanted to add ‘What is mana?’ for Parkour, as it might be useful for you and other new incomers/players.
First, let’s talk about what can you do with Parkour mana;
- You can buy things in shop, such as a /rankup, blocks, pets
Usually people buy rankups as it is more convenient as once you get SKILLED rank, you can do Insane/Expert maps!
You can also do /help in-game and get more useful tips when playing parkour.

You guys are overcomplicating it, honestly, it was a simple question.
Mana is used in /rankup, /is upgrades and /mana shop, and large amounts of mana (at least 100) can be sold to other players by using /p pay (ign) (amount) to pay them, but be careful, because if you mistype an IGN, like Hyd0kt instead of hydr0kt, you'll lose the mana and they wont receive it and you'll have to screenshot the incident and make a support ticket

A simple question; possibly. But the currency itself is quite complex as it’s not entirely a “token” system, but on some gamemodes (like Creative) it’s not a full fledged currency either. The use of mana is dependant on the gamemode you play.
Nothing wrong at all with giving a lengthy, in-depth and informative answer, even to the ‘simplest’ questions. ;)

If you note the date that the thread was created, it was a whole while ago, and a few seasons have now passed, so things would've obviously changed a bit, as new things get introduced and old things get removed.
As of today, in Season X, you can spend your mana on Skyblock at /is upgrades, which is where you can upgrade several components of your island. With a donator rank, you can also spend mana in /prestige (rank 10), which will give you cubit rewards with each successive prestige. Of course, you can also trade mana with other players (usually for in-game money) - you can ask in chat for current market values!
