Hey, you! Yes, you! Does English get a bit confusing at times? Indeed it does! Below is a guide to some confusing words...
This is part one of a new series I like to call...*drumroll please*.... Ashley's Guide to Smort!

their, they're, and there
Theirs is possessive. When you talk about who something belongs to, it is theirs!
They're is a shorter way of saying "they are." They are playing ManaCube = They're playing ManaCube!
There expresses position or a state of being. Where is someone? They are over there!

your and you're
Your is possessive. Just like "their," when something belongs to you, it is yours!
You're is also a shorter way of saying "you are." You are my friend = You're my friend!

whose and who's
Whose is possessive. When asking who something belongs to, ask whose it is!
Who's is a shorter way of saying "who is". Who is going to the event this week = Who's going to the event this week?

to, two, and too
To represent motion or a state of being. Where are you going? I am going to the store!
Two represents a quantity. How many cubits do you have? I have two cubits!
Too is an alternate way of saying "as well". I play Olympus as well as Creative = I play Olympus and Creative too!

aloud and allowed
Aloud represents an audible action. They said aloud to the staff, "thank you!"
Allowed represents permission. Are they allowed to join the server?

(thanks to melly for suggesting this one!)

then and than
Then can be used as an adverb or an "at that time" statement. At that time she said = Then she said, "See you on ManaCube"!
Than represents contrasting statements. I have more cubits than you.

(thanks to switchxr for suggesting this one!)

knew and new
Knew represents knowledge. I knew she was an admin!
New represents being recently developed. Have you seen the new Olympus revamp?

(thanks to hayley for suggesting this one!)

by, buy, and bye
By represents a state of being or position. She played ManaCube by herself. The castle was by the spawn.
Buy represents a purchase. Will you buy more seasonal keys?

Bye represents the gesture/word said when someone is leaving. Gotta go eat dinner, bye!
(thanks to hayley for suggesting this one!)

Let me know if I missed any more!

Congratulations, you've reached the end of my first guide to smort! You are now 100% smorter. If y'all enjoyed this little thread ill be sure to do more!
