Terraria
(Suggested by Killersans177!)
- I adore 2D games, even if I am significantly worse at them. Not only that, but Terraria and Minecraft are siblings! Minecraft has a title screen message: "Also try Terraria", and Terraria has: "Also try Minecraft", which is just awesome to see. They're very similar games, especially since you can really do anything with your playthrough, but Terraria has a villager/trader feature that lets you have an NPC village (and I'm in love with it).
The Secret Of Monkey Island
- This game is nostalgia incarnate for me, especially since it was the first game I actually ever beat (I think I was 12?). Speaking of 2D games, this one is simpler than the others here just because it's a puzzle game and somehow that's easier for me to get through than a combat game? I don't know how my mind works either, guys, it just does.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Listen, I'm aware this game looks marketed to children. Does that stop me? Not at ALL. Besides, it's got enough time-consuming content and achievements that it's kept me busy for a couple years at this point, and I don't plan on slowing down (especially when they just added Mulan and Mushu). I highly recommend, especially if you like designing large village spaces. There's a lot of that.
Starbound
- I refer to this game all the time as "space Terraria", because it basically is, but there's something about being the captain of your own spaceship that really makes me want to invest 50 hours into a game immediately. I think it's my inner Star Wars instincts. Also, my character is dressed like a pirate, so you have plenty of customization (and the modding community is insane).
Elden Ring
- I mean, if you like crying, absolutely go into this blind. But if you're like me, and prefer to watch games that make other people cry, try Elden Ring out. My partner 100%'d this game and I still have NO idea how. Looking at it makes my head hurt because of the difficulty, and yet it is gorgeous and the design is so good that it almost makes me want to try it. Almost.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
- Objection! What do you mean, you haven't played this yet? I got this last Christmas after being obsessed with it for years before that, and there are very few things that make me interested in court proceedings, but this game is the thing that got me.
Lethal Company
- This is another one of my favorite games, even though I'm still not great at it. I think the way this game runs has infinite replay value, especially if your friends are down to play a LOT of rounds in a row. I could play this game for days straight, and I usually don't like horror games!
That's it for this month! If you want me to include any of your favorite games in the next unthemed edition (August), comment them! Please keep all hate/unrelated comments out of the thread, this is for the gamers.
