Is 1.8.9 discontinued?

I tried to connect to the server using Vanilla 1.8.9 today and got the following error:

Unable to connect to Hub-Main-1: AN ERROR OCCURED
Please use latest Minecraft version to be able to connect to Survival.

Is this intentional?

Hey @eynac,

The server recently updated to be compatible with 1.21, and there are some issues that need to be fixed. The developers are actively working to resolve 1.8 support, however, it will take some time.

I recommend using 1.20.1, since it is the most stable version at the moment. Please try joining the server with that version, and let me know if that worked!

Happy to hear that 1.8.9 support is being worked on.
And yes 1.20.1 is working fine.
