Weekly Interview - pandabees or @pandabees
I will ask a member of the ManaCube community a series of simple questions and they can answer them. They do not have to be well-known or skilled at the game to be interviewed.
How did you choose your name? Forums and IGN (if they are different).
Since I was young, animals have always captivated me, with pandas and bees being the focal points of said captivation. When picking my username, it only felt natural for me to pay homage to these creatures. However, I knew that simply naming myself "panda" or "bee" wouldn't suffice, which led me to brainstorm possible alternatives. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, I finally landed on my current username, pandabees. I know it sounds basic, but I believe "pandabees" is the perfect name for me. Not only does it represent my profound love for pandas, but also bees, which happen to be my second favourite animal.
When & Why did you start playing ManaCube?
I first joined ManaCube in January of this year, as I had grown quite desperate to find a new server after my old one shut down. The journey here, however, was anything but easy. I scoured dozens of server lists, voting sites, and forums in hopes of finding a server that clicked with me. One day, though, while rummaging through one of these lists, I came across ManaCube. Upon first joining, I remember being impressed by how innovative everything felt. From the custom mobs and items to something as simple as the subtle fade-to-black effect that happens when you walk into one of the hub buildings, I knew I had discovered something special. For this reason, I decided to stay.
If you could make one minor change to ManaCube, what would it be and why?
If I could make one minor change to ManaCube, it would be to make the /tutorial (Survival) slightly more informative. Don't get me wrong; the current tutorial works wonders, but I believe more can be done in terms of explaining the necessary details. For instance, even after completing the tutorial, newer players often find themselves seeking clarification on basic features like obtaining mana and skill levels. This wouldn't be happening if the /tutorial provided more comprehensive explanations.
